Title:
Patient Care Technician (PCT) – Psychiatric Unit

Location:

Job Type:
Contract – 13 Weeks | Night Shift (8 hours) | 37.5 hours/week guaranteed

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and 12-lead EKGs
• Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• Conduct patient contraband searches and maintain property inventory
• Observe patients on 1:1 supervision
• Assist with patient transport within the hospital
• Support nurses and physicians during patient care
• Monitor and report behavioral changes
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity psychiatric setting

Requirements

• Active BLS certification (AHA)
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) via NHA
• One of the following de-escalation training certifications (must be completed prior to start):
  • CPI, MOAB, Handle with Care, TRUST, or Preventing & Managing Crisis Situations
• Minimum 1 year of hospital experience
• Experience in phlebotomy and 12-lead EKGs
• Ability to work weekends on rotation (EOW)
• Eggplant-colored scrubs required

Schedule

• Night shifts available: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• 3 weeks of orientation (1 week classroom, 1 week inpatient units, 1 week assigned unit)
